Call Break is a popular trick-taking card game that is commonly played in South Asia, particularly in Nepal, India, and Bangladesh. The game is also known by different names in various regions, such as Call Bridge or Call Break. It is usually played with a standard deck of 52 playing cards.

The game can be played by four players, each sitting in a fixed position, and the objective is to win as many tricks as possible in each round. A trick consists of each player playing one card, and the player with the highest-ranking card of the led suit wins the trick.

Here's a basic overview of how Call Break is played:

  1. Card Ranking: The cards are ranked from highest to lowest as follows: Ace (highest), King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 (lowest).
  2. Dealing: The dealer shuffles the deck and deals 13 cards to each player, one card at a time.
  3. Bidding: Before the game starts, players place bids to predict the number of tricks they expect to win in that round. The total number of tricks bid by all players must be equal to the number of tricks available in that round (usually 13).
  4. Gameplay: The player to the left of the dealer plays the first card, and the play proceeds in a clockwise direction. Players must follow the suit led if they have cards of that suit. If they don't have cards of the led suit, they can play any other card. The player with the highest-ranked card of the led suit wins the trick and leads the next trick.
  5. Call Break: In each round, there must be one or more "call breaks," where players are not allowed to win the exact number of tricks they bid. If a player successfully wins the number of tricks they bid, they are awarded points based on their bid. If they win more or fewer tricks than their bid, they receive no points for that round.
  6. Scoring: At the end of each round, players receive points based on their performance, and the game continues for a pre-determined number of rounds. The player with the highest score at the end of all rounds wins the game.
