There are over 160 champions in League of Legends, each offering a distinct playstyle, and it’s this variety that keeps the game fresh after so many years. Whether you’re a fan of aggressive, in-your-face champions or prefer playing from a distance, there’s a champion out there that fits your style. But what exactly makes a champion fun to play? Is it their raw power, their ability to outplay opponents, or the sense of mastery that comes with using complex mechanics?

For many players, it’s all about mobility. Champions like Zed, Yasuo, or Ekko have fast-paced, high-mobility kits that allow you to dart in and out of fights, dodge skill shots, and constantly reposition. It’s that feeling of control and outmaneuvering your opponent that draws people to these champions. You can pull off highlight-reel-worthy plays with their quick combos and flashy dashes, and that rush of adrenaline when you outplay someone feels incredibly rewarding.

On the other hand, some players are drawn to champions with insane burst damage, like LeBlanc or Katarina. The ability to delete an enemy squishy in seconds, often before they can even react, gives a certain thrill. These champions reward quick decision-making and precise timing, but they also come with a high risk. If you go in at the wrong time or miscalculate your burst potential, you might end up feeding instead of carrying. It’s that balance between risk and reward that makes these champions so exciting for many players.

But not everyone is attracted to pure aggression or fast reflexes. Some players find enjoyment in utility and outsmarting their opponents, relying on positioning, vision control, and game knowledge to turn the tide of battle. Champions like Thresh, Bard, or Tahm Kench might not deal the most damage, but their ability to protect allies, set up plays, or completely disrupt the enemy team is what makes them fun to play. There’s a different kind of satisfaction in landing the perfect Thresh hook or saving a teammate with Tahm Kench's Devour just as they’re about to die. These champions allow you to make a massive impact without necessarily being the one racking up kills.

Ultimately, what makes a champion fun to play depends on the individual player. Whether it’s the thrill of making flashy plays, the satisfaction of bursting down enemies, or the joy of outsmarting and out-positioning your opponents, League of Legends offers something for everyone. So what is it for you? Do you love the feeling of high-speed mobility, or do you prefer the strategic depth that comes with utility champions?
