do goty winners all get forgotten ?

last year it was elden ring, the year before that it was it takes two and no one plays the last of us anymore do the games just get boring or why do they get forgotten ?

Well, not all of them get forgotten, of course not! But as the name states it's GAME OF THE YEAR.. They have to pick something, even with no good games, anyways... Not all GOTY games get forgotten, take a look at Grand Theft Auto V, a very good game that's played by Millions to this day, or Minecraft! I bet most people won't ever forget that game

People grow out of stuff, competition always comes up with better things and people move on... Imagine playing the same game for the rest of your life? That would be a prison sentence
