Can we please talk about their new reward system?
- How we’re no longer gonna receive chests from mastery so effectively we only get hextech from purchasing them making keys from honor redundant after they already giga nerfed the amount of chests we get from mastery this year already like wtf. Please someone correct me if I’m wrong
But i read the article and it says "You’ll no longer receive chests from Mastery, but instead be rewarded in Pass Experience, bringing Champion Mastery into the fold for Battle Pass progression."
So we went from potentially 52 chests (1 per week with a cap of 4 of them in succession by getting an s- on any champ none repeatable) to the current system being 31 (6 from hitting mastery 1 on different champs and 25 from mastery 3 on different champs) to 0 wtf
But im pretty sure now it's 31 per split no? Even if the amount of game required is impossible.
I dont get it so pleases comment your thoughts.

There are a lot of frustrating changes listed here, and perhaps most infuriatingly is the fact this is all being framed in a really "positive" light (imo). As if the 'needless complicatedness' of the current rewards system justifies what feels like a reduction in skins and valuable rewards we'll be receiving:
  • Event tokens are being removed, meaning you won't be able to theoretically grind infinite orbs/skin shards like we can now. We also won't have the option to pick up just one border/chroma/whatever from the free tokens we currently receive; if we want just one of these bonus pieces of loot, we have to buy the whole Battle Pass.
  • The removal of chests from the Champion Mastery system, replaced by battle pass XP which will only grant 4 skins per split. Again, players are no longer given the option of putting in extra time into the Champion Mastery system in order to gain more rewards; we are hard-capped.
  • The Masterwork Chest track pass is being removed, which can be slow to complete but is possible by getting lucky with Hextech Chests or picking up a few Battle Passes throughout the year. The rewards of 30 ME and 3 skin shards (2 over 975RP) are being lost, yet aren't being reflected in the new systems.
League's cosmetics and monetization have been moving in a disappointing direction for a while now, and sadly, this looks to be a continuation of that trend. This whole post feels pretty deceptive, over-exaggerating how complex the rewards system currently is in order to justify giving players fewer and less valuable rewards.
