What’s the Best Faction Choice for Roleplaying in PoE2?

One of the things I love about Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is how well the factions are written, making each one feel like a viable option depending on your character’s motivations. I’m planning my next playthrough and want to focus on roleplaying, but I’m torn about which faction aligns best with my character’s backstory and personality.

For example:

• The Huana seem like a natural choice for characters who value tradition and are empathetic to the struggles of indigenous cultures. But does their rigid caste system make them harder to support morally?
• The Royal Deadfire Company might appeal to someone who believes in order and expansion, but their colonialist attitude makes it a morally gray choice.
• The Vailian Trading Company seems perfect for a pragmatic or greedy character who values innovation and profit over ideals.
• The Principi are great if you want to play a chaotic or morally ambiguous character, but they feel less cohesive as a long-term force in the archipelago.

I’ve also heard people say going independent gives you the most freedom to shape the world in your own way, but it feels a little lonely without fully committing to a faction.
