What to get?

Hello all:

I'm thinking of getting into gaming but I'd like to give something a try before I do any major spending. Is there something I can play on a smart TV without too much outlay? I'd prefer something like car racing or boxing over shooting people. Something fun for two couch potatoes to fight it out.
